- Intern Photo Contest: We want to put your work photos on our website! We’re looking for photos of interns at work -- at their desk, with coworkers, with projects, with customers, in the field, in the plant, in the lab! Be as creative as you want. This is a great chance to show other students what you’re doing this summer. To enter the Intern Photo Contest, submit photos to ann.blasick@dopp.gatech.edu. The winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded at the Intern Welcome Back Event on Monday, August 25 from 5-7PM in the Student Success Center. Stay-tuned for an invitation to this event!

- The Division of Professional Practice is delighted to announce an exciting new initiative for Fall 2008: The Just Ask It program. The Just Ask It program will be an occasion for students to meet directly with employers on a walk in basis. This is an opportunity for YOU to ask employers any type of job search or employment questions you may have on your minds. In addition, you can request career or major advice, ask for a resume review, or ask any other question you may have directly to an employer. Stay tuned for the schedule of participating employers

You can work for an entrepreneurial start-up company in metro Atlanta, a government agency in Washington DC, or a nationally-renowned Fortune 500 Company in Silicon Valley or even Shanghai.

The Georgia Institute of Technology Internship (GT Internship) Program provides students with real-world work experience directly related to their major at over 1,000 companies across the United States and beyond.
Internships help students make career decisions, develop professional and personal skills, begin the process of networking early, and build their resume. They provide students with a competitive edge in today’s constantly evolving workplace.
The GT Internship Program provides employers with an excellent pool of well-prepared employees, enhances their personnel selection process by using on-the-job performance as a basis for permanent hiring, and contributes to workforce diversity through access to a large and diverse pool of top-notch applicants.
What Jobs Qualify as GT Internships?
- GT internships must be related to a student’s major. In addition to major-related internships, our Community Service Program allows students to intern for a non-profit or other civic organization.
- Paid or Voluntary
- Most internships span a single semester (Spring, Summer or Fall). However students can work multiple internships with the same or different companies. Back-to-Back spring-summer or summer-fall internship assignments are allowed.
- Part-time Spend less time in the classroom, Maintain your full-time student status, Earn special recognition on your transcript, work PART-TIME in your major field.
- Part-time interns are strongly encouraged to work two consecutive terms.
Work 20 – 29 hours per week, take 6 Internship credits + 6 credit hours in the classroom.
Work 30 – 34 hours per week, take 9 Internship credits + 3 credit hours in the classroom.
Working 35+ hours per week = Full-time internship
No charge for Internship credit courses. -
Work term length is typically 12-14 weeks for summer and 16-18 weeks for spring or fall.
